The Beam In Your Eye! 12/8/2011
One of the
hardest things in the world to do is not judge! We have to remain mindful not
to place our black robes on and begin sentencing. In every situation, it’s easy
to find fault in others when something goes wrong. It is in these moments that we should
consider that for every judgment we make, we are also open to be judged! We all
have skeletons in our closets that are waiting to be revealed. Consider all of the wrong immoral thoughts
that you have had, the gossip you’ve spread or the hurtful things you have
said. The good news is that in spite of
it all, our heavenly father continues to give us grace and mercy. He loves
without judgment and allows us a new beginning.
I challenge you today to take a moment, look in the mirror and focus on
you. We all have so much work to do on our individual selves that there’s no
time to judge or criticize one another. We need to start by remembering that we are all broken vessels and
the only way we can be healed is by asking our father above to forgive and restore
us. So before we judge - consider those skeletons, thank our creator for grace
and continue to Be Great!
Matthew 7
1DO NOT judge and
criticize and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticized and
condemned yourselves. 2For
just as you judge and criticize and condemn others, you will be judged and
criticized and condemned, and in accordance with the measure you [use to] deal
out to others, it will be dealt out again to you. 3Why do you [a]stare
from without at the [b]very
small particle that is in your brother's eye but do not become aware of and
consider the beam [c]of
timber that is in your own eye. 4Or how can you say to your brother, Let me get the
tiny particle out of your eye, when there is the beam [d]of
timber in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first get the beam of timber out of
your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the tiny particle out of
your brother's eye.
