Birds of A Feather 12/1/2011

Daily Grind- Birds of a Feather 12/1/2011

Today I challenge you to take an assessment of your circle of friends. If you are the smartest person in your circle then it is time for you to seek out new friends that challenge you to be better. I often ask this question to the kids that I supervise: “Are you an eagle or a pigeon? “ Eagles soar in the air and Pigeons eat off the ground. They are both birds yet I have never seen them hanging out with one another. The decision to befriend someone should not be taken lightly. It is important that you observe their good and bad character traits because those traits could eventually rub off on you in some way. I think the decision is quite simple, if you hang out with winners, you will learn how to become a winner and soar like an eagle. Likewise, if you decide to deal with people with a defeated mentality, prepare yourself for mediocrity and eating off the ground like a pigeon. Choose winners, soar like an eagle and Be Great!

Japanese proverb When the character of a man is not clear to you, look at his friends.

Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for 'tis better to be alone than in bad company." - George Washington (1732 - 1799) US Statesman
