As we move through life, it is certain that we will experience the loss of a loved one. When this tragedy knocks at our door we have no choice but to answer. I encourage you today to take the appropriate time to mourn when you lose someone that is near and dear to your heart. Just because we live in the information age and things move at the speed of light, does not mean that we shouldn’t take the time necessary to grieve and express the loss of someone special. It is during the grieving process that we can reflect on the impact that the person left on our lives and begin to mend our hearts back together. Take time to say goodbye to those that we’ve cherished who have gone to glory and remember how they assisted us in Being Great!

During these moments, we conclude that the dilemma could result in an unpleasant outcome. Whenever we spend a significant amount of time in the company of others, it’s easy for us to uncover their character flaws. When they exhibit a trait that does not line up with ours, we place them into categories that we find unfavorable. Today, I challenge you to FIND THE GOOD IN EVERYONE by focusing on the positive attributes that they possess. When we concentrate on the good qualities of others, we find that the reflection we see resembles the substance that lives inside of us. If we decide to spotlight the bad in others, they will easily discover the chips in our armor. It is important that we only plant good seeds in everyone we are around, so that we can easily reap the sweet crop that those individuals possess. Take the time to focus on the Good in others and they will see that we are GREAT!

Daily Grind – Placing Limits on Yourself! 8/22/2012

Today offers an opportunity for us to rid ourselves of the constrictions that we have allowed to be placed on us. Right now we must use the tools we have to release ourselves from internal bondage. I challenge you today to find the mental toughness to fight back when the enemy encourages us to place limits on ourselves. We cannot continue to give in when circumstances appear to be stacked against us. In order to receive our break through, we must face those demons in our mind by continuing to stand on the truth and controlling our thoughts. Be reminded that when those thoughts of defeat and neglect interrupt our psyche, WE DON’T HAVE TO OWN THEM! Instead, we can replace them with confirmations of “I can”, “I will”, and “I must”. Once we master this, we will illuminate and BE GREAT!

No matter how much we try to avoid it, at some point in our lives we will face confrontation. During these moments it’s important to choose either focusing on the problem or attempting to resolve it. I challenge you today to use your energy in finding solutions to the problems that you face. We spend too much time pointing fingers and placing blame rather than thinking of ways to make the situation better. If you are involved in any conflict, make a decision to be part of the solution. Now is the time to take a different approach to bickering.  We must let go of our “EGO” in order to shape our character in humility. It’s not about who has the “Last Word” but who has the influence to initiate peace. There will be times in life when the odds are stacked against us and the only word that we hear is “NO”! During our lives, we will have to deal with unexpected circumstances that are heartbreaking. It does not matter what title we hold or how much influence we possess. We can be dynamic in every aspect of our life and tragic events will still somehow sniff us out.
