Daily Grind – Listen Carefully! 3/15/2013
As we wind down the end of this week, we should cultivate our
listening skills. One of the main reasons that drama knocks on our door is
because we have refused to listen and instead, jumped to conclusions. I challenge
you today to listen carefully by not only concentrating on what is being said but
paying attention how the message is being delivered. If we develop the ability
of actively listening with our EARS and our HEARTS, we can change a volatile situation
into an opportunity for peaceful exchange. Keep in mind that anytime that we
communicate, our ultimate goal is to obtain understanding. It is time that we
go back to the basics by putting down our mobile devices and lifting our heads
to pay attention to what others are saying. Only then will we begin to see our
relationships flourish and our stress levels decrease. Listen carefully and Be Great!

Listening is a magnetic and strange thing, a creative force. The
friends who listen to us are the ones we move toward. When we are listened to,
it creates us, makes us unfold and expand. ~Karl A. Menninger
